‘Friends with Benefits’ could be another ordinary romantic comedy if it wasn’t the way that cities were shown in the screen. New York and Los Angeles were used not only as a background scenario, however both cities play an important role in the script. Los Angeles is presented with wide and long spaces, connected to the nature, and to the sea. New York is full of buildings, claustrophobic, crowded of people and urban life. These disparities also influence the characters’ persona and their development along the movie. So, when watching Friends with Benefits, don’t focus only in the couple, but realize how the cities are very important to the story!!
